The NSWAFUA is once again supporting the AFL Sydney’s Health Awareness initiative, to be held on the weekend of August 9 & 10 (Round 16).
This year we will see us help raise funds in support of the Cancer Council ‘Call to Arms’ . All umpires will be asked to donate part of their match pay toward the cause, along with joining the players in wearing yellow armbands in Round 16 matches.
One in two men will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85 – it could be you, or it could be your best mate. Wearing a yellow armband in Call To Arms could help save your best mate from hearing the words ‘you have cancer.’
The donations from your yellow armband will help prevent, detect, and treat cancers in men and support men in need by funding The Cancer Council’s important cancer research, education and support programs.
