On behalf of the committee and members of the NSWAFUA, congratulations to Michael Saunders on his recent inclusion to the AFL Boundary Umpire List for the 2009 Season.
Michael has certainly made an impact since joining the Sydney AFL Umpiring ranks and we wish him every success as he takes the next step in his umpiring career.
We would also like to congratulate Matthew Gestier who has been invited to trial for the AFL Umpire List. We wish him every success.
It is a very positive thing for the development and growth of umpiring in New South Wales that we have representatives from the Sydney AFL Umpiring ranks being invited to be part of the AFL Umpire List. The NSWAFUA hope that it continues and that more of our umpiring colleagues get the opportunity to umpire our great game at the highest level.
