To Life Members, Members and All Umpires and Families,
Thank you to the many people that have reached out and been in contact over the past few days regarding our proposed changes to the remainder of the 2020 season.
We are happy to advise that by working closely with AFL Sydney (and based on your feedback), we have been able to adjust the proposed pay adjustment for normal match day rates to a 30% reduction. This will incorporate any training bonuses and there will not be a formal requirement to attend training in the 2020 season, for an increase in match day payments.
Finals match payments and travel bonuses remain unchanged from previous correspondence.
Our hope is that once matches can resume, our umpiring community will be keen and eager to get back on the field and enjoy the game in strong numbers. AFL Sydney is working with national guidelines on creating a safe environment where each umpire can feel comfortable at training or on match day. There will be many changes to the norm which will be communicated in the coming weeks.
Similar to the last communication sent out, if there are any concerns, feedback or questions, please raise them to or contact myself. The committee is happy to accept this agreement if there are no major objections to the above after Monday, 8th June.
